Farmers Markets have been held in Stafford for the past 10 years. They have gone from strength to strength and have quickly become very popular, with people coming from other towns to buy the goods on offer. Produce for Farmers Markets has to be locally produced within a 30 mile radius.
The Markets are held on the 2nd Saturday of every month, with the exception of January.
Goods for sale include bread and cakes, oatcakes, plants and flowers, wines, jams and preserves, fresh meat, sausages, bacon, black pudding chicken, eggs and scotch eggs, fruit and vegetables, fish, pastries, jewellery, chocolate, and many more items too numerous to mention.
Traders begin to set up their stalls from as early as 7.30am with the majority being open for trading from 9am, they close at around 4pm or when they have nothing left to sell (which happens quite often as their produce is very popular).
The Markets are very well attended with around 30 stalls available, the Farmers and Traders stand in all weather, come rain or shine and are very proud of what they have on sale.
To book a stall at the Farmers Market please contact the Markets Office on 01785 245935.
