Stafford College’s End-of-Year Art Exhibition Returns to The Shire Hall Gallery

On Friday 14 June, friends and family of talented art, design and media students from Stafford College, part of Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) were invited to a private viewing of their end-of-year art exhibition, “Arts. 2019” which opened to the public on Saturday 15 June.
The annual art exhibition, which is hosted at the Shire Hall Gallery in the heart of Stafford town centre, encompasses all creative subjects from the College’s creative faculty, which includes: art, fashion, illustration, graphic design, games design, media and photography. With highlights in every course area, much of the work will be available to buy.
The exhibition opened to the public on Saturday 15 June and will remain open from Monday 17 June to Friday 21 June between the hours of 10am and 4pm. The exhibition will then re-open on Saturday 22 June from 10am to 12pm and Monday 24 June to Thursday 27 June between the hours of 10am and 4pm.
The renowned Shire Hall Gallery has re-opened once again especially to house the College’s prestigious art exhibition which has risen in popularity over the years and expects to welcome hundreds of visitors keen to view the work of some of the most talented students in and around Staffordshire.
Chloe Drury, who is studying the BTEC Foundation Diploma in Art & Design at Stafford College, said: “Studying on the foundation course has been a great experience and I’ve learnt so much over the year. Taking part in the exhibition has provided me with a real insight into what it’s like to be a working artists within the creative industry, which has really helped grow my confidence.”
Mike Kelly, Group Head of Creative Arts and Media at NSCG, said: “Our annual Art Exhibition is known locally as a visual extravaganza and we’re thrilled we’ve been able to return to the Shire Hall Gallery to exhibit. We have some brilliant students at Stafford College, who will go on to forge exciting careers in the UK’s creative industries. Our end-of-year exhibition is a great
way for them to showcase their creativity and celebrate their achievement with the local community.”
The College offers art, design and media courses at various levels, including A Levels and vocational qualifications targeted to schools leavers and university-level courses targeted to adults.
